Cities Alliance: The power of partnerships

Cities Alliance is a global partnership for urban poverty reduction and the promotion of the role of cities in sustainable development. In the run-up toward the United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development (Habitat III), in 2014 Cities Alliance established a Joint Work Programme (JWP) focused on advocacy to rally members around cities and formulate common key messages, for promoting the role of inclusive partnership between national governments, local government and civil society in the 2030 Agenda. A joint video highlights the crucial role of partnerships in achieving poverty reduction in cities and implementing the New Urban Agenda.
