About Matthew Hanchard

Matthew S. Hanchard is a digital geographer and sociologist with interests in digital media and society, data science/critical data studies, medical sociology, and awkward multimodal methodologies. He currently works at the University of Sheffield (UK) iHuman Institute for a Wellcome Trust funded project on rare disease drug access, innovation, and pricing. His previous work spans film audiences, transport mobilities, smart cities, and follows on from a PhD at Newcastle University examining how people engage with digital maps.
