Edgar Pieterse holds the South African Research Chair in Urban Policy at the University of Cape Town, where he is also the founding director the African Centre for Cities. He has recently co-authored (with Susan Parnell, David Simon, AbdouMaliq Simone): Urbanisation Imperatives for Africa: Transcending Policy Inertia.
