“City Networks Need to Be Membership-Based Organisations”
In an interview with URBANET, Emilia Saiz from UCLG presents her vision for the city network, talking about how the network can best represent local and regional governments in a democratic manner.
United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) aims at strengthening the influence of local and municipal government representatives on global governance. Emphasising this aim, UCLG is among the organisers of the Local and Regional Authorities Forum, which will take place alongside the High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development this year for the first time. UCLG’s work will increasingly focus on partnerships with different actor groups, not only to exchange experiences but to develop strategies in an inclusive way.
