About Sahar Aloul

Sahar Aloul Is a women’s rights activist and an executive team member of SADAQA, a leading feminist and women’s economic rights organization in Jordan. She is also a gender and transport consultant. In her capacity at SADAQA, Sahar leads advocacy efforts aiming at lowering structural barriers for women to enter the workforce in Jordan. These culminated in amending the Jordanian Labour Law in 2019 to make it more gender-sensitive, and in widening the social protection for working mothers and underpaid care workers in daycares, as well as introducing a gender perspective into public transport policy. Sahar has been responsible for launching several studies on gender and public transport, and unpaid and underpaid care work.
