About Meera Sundararajan

Meera Sundararajan is a social development professional from Chennai in Southern India. She has been working on the issue of gender for the last three decades. Her work covers the thematic areas of livelihoods, nutrition, and gender-based violence focusing on programme development and generating evidence. As a professional who has worked with the government, the non-profit sector, and corporate philanthropies, Meera has always kept the topic of gender at the centre of her work. She now works as the gender and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) expert of the Gender and Policy Lab at the Greater Chennai Corporation. Within that position, Meera is leading the team that deals with the issues of women’s safety, access and mobility in public spaces in the city of Chennai.
