About Mary Mwangi

Mary Mwangi holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Technology with a specialty in Public Relations and Marketing. She has over 5 years’ experience in community mobilisation, gender mainstreaming, prevention of sexual harassment, and project management. Mary has been working with Flone Initiative since 2014 as a Communications Officer and Program Specialist, currently spearheading the implementation of all of Flone’s programs.

Until today, women around the world experience harassment and even assault when moving in public spaces, including on public transport services. In Nairobi, Kenya, the Flone Initiative is combatting gender-based violence by supporting victims, and by training service providers to effectively prevent behaviour that compromises women’s safety and right to mobility.
