About Max Lohmann

Max Lohmann is a Policy Advisor at GIZ and part of the sector project on urban development. He focusses on international policy processes, including the Habitat III preparatory process. Before joining GIZ he was an analyst for the UNOPS Partnerships Office in Washington, D.C. He obtained his Master’s Degree in International Relations and Economics with a focus on Conflict Management from Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).

New Urban Agenda Text Agreed on in New York

After a final round of negotiations, Sept. 7 - 10 at UN Headquarters in New York, the member states agreed on the New Urban Agenda text to be adopted at the Habitat III conference this year, Oct. 17 – 21 in Quito. An agreement on the text was reached during extended negotiations, after a number of outstanding issues remained following the third Preparatory Committee Meeting in late July.
