About Jagan Shah

Jagan Shah is Director of the National Institute of Urban Affairs, the premier urban think-tank for the Government of India. NIUA promotes integrated solutions and executes projects in all areas of urban development in Indian cities. Shah is known as a thought leader and expert on India’s Smart Cities Mission. He is leading the preparations of the next Master Plan for Delhi-2041, a land pooling policy for 22,000 hectares of greenfield development, and a transit-oriented development policy. He is an architect, historian, and theorist trained at the School of Planning & Architecture, New Delhi, the University of Cincinnati, and Columbia University.
