About Alexander Jachnow

Alexander Jachnow is dedicated to the mission of taking the oxymoron out of “sustainable urbanisation.” He is an adjunct professor at the Namibia University of Science and Technology, has been the Head of Urban Strategies and Planning at the Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS) of Erasmus University Rotterdam and team leader for GIZ in Bangladesh and Nepal. For 25 years, he has been actively involved in urban development programmes in Latin America, Asia, and Africa. His research and teaching focus on the challenges and opportunities of urbanisation processes.
