About Michela Carucci

Michela provides expertise to national and local governments in different areas related to food systems, focusing on how to integrate food into urban and regional planning and policy. Over the past four years, she has worked extensively on food systems approaches and urban/territorial related matters. Before joining FAO, Michela has worked for C40 Cities Climate Group and for the Municipality of Milan, Mayor’s Office. She has also worked as qualitative food security and nutrition researcher for the National Health Service in Italy. Michela holds a BSc in Nutrition from the University of Florence, and a MSc in Food and Agriculture Policy from City University London.
