About Martim O. Smolka

Martim Smolka is an economist. He graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1971) with an MA and holds a PhD in Regional Science from the University of Pennsylvania, 1980. Since 1995, he is the director of the Lincoln Institute's Latin American Program and directs research and educational programs on issues relating to land markets and land policies. The Lincoln Institute operates under the motto “Finding Answers in Land” through the effective use, taxation, and stewardship of land. In 2018, the Institute launched a global campaign on land value capture.
