About National Urban Development Policy (NSP)

The National Urban Development Policy (NSP) is a joint project by the Federal German Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community (BMI), the German Association of Cities, the German Association of Towns and Communities and the Conference of Building Ministers. It aims to realize the principles as set out by the Leipzig Charter on Sustainable European Cities and focuses strongly on the development and implementation of an integrated approach to urban development. Such an approach focuses on space-based urban development and demands cooperation across sectors to deal with economic, ecological and societal challenges in cities and towns.
