About Martin Oteng-Ababio

Martin Oteng-Ababio is professor in urban geography and the head of the Department of Geography and Resource Development at the University of Ghana. He doubles as Project Coordinator for PeriPeri U (Partners Enhancing Resilience for People Exposed to Risks), a platform for twelve African universities with disaster risks reduction agenda. His research interests span urban studies with specialty in environmental management, infrastructure services, disaster risk reduction, and informality. He has authored over 80 peer-reviewed journal articles and 20 book chapters. Among other awards, in 2016 his article in Habitat International was awarded the highly cited research paper of the year.
