There are many different ways to achieve sustainable urban development. In this video municipal officials, urban experts and local residents from around the world talk about urban challenges, sustainable solutions for climate-friendly cities and future needs. By integrating the efforts of all these actors, cities can become drivers of climate-friendly action, as the best-practice examples show. The international goal should be to improve living situations globally by focusing on ways to mitigate and adapt to climate change on a local level. For this purpose, local and subnational actors have to be strengthened in their capacities, know-how and resources for jointly implementing the Paris Agreement as well as the Sustainable Development Goals.
