About Max Lohmann

Max Lohmann is an international development professional, with over 5 years of experience in international policy processes and urban infrastructure development, mainly for the GIZ. In his current role, Max is heading the C40 Cities Finance Facility (CFF) Partnerships team. The CFF is a global initiative supporting C40 member cities in developing countries and emerging economies to identify and access financing instruments to realize their low-carbon investment projects. Prior to this, Max worked as a policy advisor to the Federal German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) for international conferences, including the 2030 Agenda, the Habitat III conference, or the German G20 presidency. Max has a Master’s Degree in International Relations and Economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).

New Urban Agenda Text Agreed on in New York

After a final round of negotiations, Sept. 7 - 10 at UN Headquarters in New York, the member states agreed on the New Urban Agenda text to be adopted at the Habitat III conference this year, Oct. 17 – 21 in Quito. An agreement on the text was reached during extended negotiations, after a number of outstanding issues remained following the third Preparatory Committee Meeting in late July.
